GodGod is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are co-equal and are one God.Gen. 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Ps. 90:2; Matt. 28:19; 1 Pet. 1:2; 2 Cor. 13:14.JesusJesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the supreme and perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He resurrected (rose) from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power of sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.Isa. 9:6; Matt. 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14: 10-30; Heb. 4:14-14-15; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Rom. 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Tim. 6:14-15; Tit. 2:13; Col. 1:15-16Holy SpiritThe Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in living the Christian life. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.2 Cor. 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 2:12, 3:16; Eph. 1:13; Gal. 5:25.The BibleThe Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and all of life. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet.1:20-21; 2 Tim. 1:13; Ps. 119:105 & 160.SalvationSalvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness, can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. We believe that the Bible lays out how to respond to this free gift & turn to Christ: Trust Christ with your life – Eph. 2:8-10; John 14:1 Confess your trust in Christ as your Lord – Romans 10:9 Call on His name – Romans 10:13 Turn from your sins – Acts 17:30 Be baptized for the forgiveness of sins & the gift of the Holy Spirit – Acts 2:38Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Gal. 3:26; Rom. 5:1; 1 Pet. 3:20 & 21.Eternal LifeBecause God gives us eternal life through our faith in Jesus Christ, and because Jesus died for our sins once and for all saves us forever, there is no condemnation for those in Christ. A person cannot have their salvation taken away from them.*A person can however “forfeit” or “walk away” from their salvation – John 15: Hebrews 6:4-6.John 10:29; Romans 8:1; 2 Tim. 1:12; Heb. 7:25; 10:10,14; 1 Pet. 1:3-5

What kind of church is F.C.C.?First Christian Church of Morgantown is a non-denominational New Testament Christian Church. We are committed to the principles of our Christian Church heritage in the Restoration Movement. We are a congregation independent of any outside control except God and His Word. God has called us to preach and teach His Word. We want to be faithful to this high calling. We call people to faith in Christ…a faith that responds to his commands to repent, confess our faith, be immersed into Him, and continue to follow Him.What should I wear?Come in whatever you are comfortable in. From jeans to a suit, you are welcome! As a visitor, will I be singled out in any way?You will not be put on the spot, singled-out, or embarrassed at all. We do have a welcome packet for all visitors who want to pick one up at our welcome center. There are also cards in the pew if you want more information. What is worship like?First Christian Church believes that worship is not limited to the Sunday morning celebration of song and praise to Christ. As a part of our worship philosophy F.C.C. participates in communion every Sunday as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper as demonstrated in Scripture. On Sunday morning you and your family will be able to worship Christ through a blended worship style that will take you before the throne of God by way of today’s latest and most powerful praise songs and amazing traditional hymns. Our worship band features a full arrangement of instruments including: drums, guitars (bass, acoustic and electric), and piano. What are the sermons like? The preaching at F.C.C. is Bible-based and Christ-centered. Every Sunday you can be sure to hear a practical message centered on the Word of God with clear application for your life in today’s culture. It is the goal of F.C.C. is that through worship and the preaching of God’s Word that Christ would be glorified and that you would be encouraged in your life and faith. What do you offer for my child(ren)? Our vision for the children of First Christian Church is that each child, from 0-5th grade, will find a safe, fun and loving place to learn and grow. We want to teach children about being a follower of Christ, by always emphasizing loving Him and loving others. Our volunteers are top-of-the-line, and we care about your entire family.
